Safety and privacy
Safe AI for kids starts with what it will not do.
Parents are right to be careful with AI and children. This page says, in plain words, how Scribblie is built, what it collects, and what we have not finished yet.
Join the waitlistA grown-up is always in charge
A parent or carer passes a grown-up check and gives consent before any child feature is used. You can delete the account and all data from inside the app.
What it collects, and what it removes
Only what it needs
A child’s first name and age. Not a surname, address or school.
Personal details are stripped
Phone numbers, emails, addresses and card numbers are removed from conversation text.
Voice is not kept
Voice recordings are deleted right after they are turned into text.
No ads, no ad trackers in the app
There are no ads and no third-party trackers in the app. There is no public sharing and no chat with strangers.
How the AI behaves
A character answers inside the limits of its own drawing and personality, and it is gentle: if a child sounds sad, it responds kindly rather than joking. By default, conversation follows rules we wrote and test. An open-ended hosted language model is off unless we explicitly switch it on, and we will say so here if we ever do.
Your child’s drawing is never redrawn by AI, and we do not describe the product as a chatbot to ask anything of. If you want a wider look at the subject, read our guide on whether AI is safe for kids.
What we have not finished
We are completing legal and safety review. We do not claim COPPA or GDPR compliance, or any certification, because that work is not signed off. No child outside our team has used Scribblie yet. When that changes, this page changes first.
Because Scribblie will have a paid plan, our Terms and Privacy Policy will be updated before launch to say so; today they describe the app without purchases.

Common questions
Is Scribblie safe for kids?
It is designed for kids to use with a grown-up in control, with no ads, no strangers and minimal data. We are still finishing legal and safety review, so we do not make compliance claims and we have not had public child users yet.
Does Scribblie record my child?
Speech is converted to text and the recording is deleted right after. Personal details are stripped from conversation text.
Can I delete everything?
Yes, in the app, behind the grown-up check, or by email to privacy@heyscribblie.com.
Is my child talking to a chatbot that can say anything?
Not by default. Characters respond within rules we wrote and test and within what the drawing can do. An open-ended hosted model is off unless explicitly switched on.
